Warriors 4-2 Victors Over Bighorn
|
The Walnut Creek Warriors welcomed the Bighorn Bison to an afternoon game at Castlerock Field.
Walnut Creek turned a fine outing from starter Matt White into a victory over the Bighorn Bison at Castlerock Field. The final score was 4-2. Dakson Rocket, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
Fred Dempsey had a big 3-run home run for the Warriors in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Walnut Creek leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from Dave Ransom, who is tied for 6th in the TML with a 1.39 WHIP, and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Warriors on top, 4-0.
"Matt's stuff looked really, really crisp," said Armando Medina, the Warriors manager.
Walnut Creek goes to 87-48. The win puts them 14½ games up in their division.
