Pioneers Fall, 8-6, to San Francisco
|
Though he had a stellar game, Xavier Ray could not prevent his team, the Vancouver Pioneers, from losing, 8-6, to the San Francisco Earthquakes. Ray was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Jim LeMay closed it out for San Francisco, earning his 24th save. Vancouver's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
Chris Dery had a big 2-run double for the Earthquakes in the bottom of the fourth inning. With San Francisco trailing 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from former first round draft pick Nazir Nance and swatted a double to left. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Earthquakes ahead, 3-2.
"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Vancouver manager Jesús Morán.
