Blazers Suffer One-Run Loss at San Francisco
The San Francisco Earthquakes topped the Bloomington Blazers, 8-7, the lion's share of the credit going to designated hitter Gil Delk. On the day, Delk went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 times for the Earthquakes. Picking up the win was Greg Hobson. He went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits. The right--hander struck out 2 and walked 3. Josh Christie closed it out for his 32nd save.

In the bottom of the first, former first round draft pick Mike Young hit a 3-run home run. The 16th home run of the season for the San Francisco first baseman put the Earthquakes on top, 3-0.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Delk.

The Earthquakes raised their record to 61-54.
