The Jacksonville Pilots picked up a win at Arnold Field, courtesy of German Gil. The right-hander helped his team stop the Bighorn Bison, 3-2. Gil, the winner, moves to 10-4. He threw 8.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks. Jacksonville now owns a record of 75-57.

Jacksonville pinch hitter Luis Velez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a sinker to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 135th hit of the season and put the Pilots ahead, 2-0.

"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Velez told the Jacksonville Herald.
