Buffalo defeated Walnut Creek, 7-4, in large part due to former first round draft pick Devin Staples. Staples drove in 4 runs. The designated hitter had 1 double and 1 home run for the Bison. The winner was Josh Swopes in relief. His record improves to 5-0. Bruce Moreno took the loss. Buffalo currently is in third place in the Thurman Munson League East Division at 63-67.

Staples contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Buffalo in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Staples took a fastball from Bruce Moreno and stroked the home run to right. His 19th home run of the season allowed the Bison to leap in front, 4-3.

"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Staples.
