Texans Upend Luchadores, 8-5
The Dallas Texans knocked off the Mexico City Luchadores, 8-5, in Roberto Clemente League action at The Royal Grounds. Dallas pitcher and Independence, Missouri, native Michael Slater had an outstanding performance. Slater, now 6-5, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing 2 runs. Picking up the save was Chris Nugent, his 27th.

Matt Chabot had a big 2-run home run for the Texans in the top of the first inning. With Dallas leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Duane Alcock, who is tied for 2nd in the RCL in complete games with 4, and punished it. The result was his 13th home run of the season, which put the Texans on top, 3-0.

"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Chabot.

Dallas bumps their record to 60-71 with the win.
