Ramrods Victors, 6-4, at Maple
|
The Huntington Station Ramrods defeated the Maple Marauders by the score of 6-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Jeremy Nowell. Nowell was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Ramrods on the day. Dan Lenart got the win, improving to 4-3. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. Huntington Station currently is in last place in the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division at 46-68.
Huntington Station used a well-timed hit by Kenny Krautter to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Ramrods ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Maple manager Aubert Licci. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
