Tornadoes Lose to Seattle, 1-0
|
The Kansas City Tornadoes got a superb performance from pitcher Mario Villegas. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Seattle. The Sasquatch won the game, 1-0. Villegas threw 8.0 innings allowing 1 run. Picking up the save was six-time All-Star Nate Yelinek. With the win, the Sasquatch improved to 50-62.
The Sasquatch got a big at-bat from first baseman Travis Wharton. For the game, Wharton was 1 for 4 with a home run. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 26th home run of the season gave Seattle a 1-0 lead.
"Both teams played hard," said Seattle manager Alim bin Umar.
