The Quebec Armada were almost helpless in their 4-0 loss to the Havana Stogies and hurler Bryan Stanford. Stanford kept the Armada confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout.

"Tip your hat to Stanford," Quebec manager Rod Cirilo said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."

The 26-year-old right-hander had 2 walks and 4 strikeouts in a strong performance.

"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Stanford said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."

This season in 27 starts, Bryan Stanford has a record of 11-12 with 92 strikeouts in 142.2 innings and a 6.94 ERA.
