The Traverse City Beach Bums racked up a win at The Kaleidoscope, bumping off the Pennsylvania Butterflies, 4-3. Nick Clark, who started for Traverse City, pitched effectively for his team. Getting the save was Willie Roman, his 19th. The 6th-place Beach Bums improved to 44-67.
Bayesa Akinkawon came through with a big-time hit for Traverse City. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I liked our effort," said Beach Bums manager Prince Percival Papenfuss.
