The Montreal Jazz downed the Chicago Eclipse, 3-1, at Millennium Field. Stellar pitching by Sam Hickey had a lot to do with it. The left-hander, who finished 4th in the TML in wins with 15 in 2060, handcuffed his opponent all game. Montreal is in 4th place in the Thurman Munson League Tim Ervin Division with a record of 57-53.
Montreal used a clutch at-bat from John Bernstein to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Jazz ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"For the most part, I didn't think they knew what was coming," said Hickey.
