Loss to Ramrods Extends Manhattan Losing Streak
|
The Huntington Station Ramrods handed the Manhattan Slice a loss at Copps Park. The final score was 7-6. Chris Kern was one of the major contributors for Huntington Station. In addition to his 2 singles and 1 home run, he scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The slumping Slice have lost 6 straight.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the ninth, with the game tied, Wally Blagdon was at the plate when Huntington Station scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Ramrods to go in front, 7-6.
In comments to the Huntington Station Chronicle, Blagdon insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
