The Eureka Hornets picked up a win at Stade Claude Raymond, knocking off the Montreal Jazz, 4-3. Starting pitcher Cesar Romo played a key role in the triumph. Sinclair Wouters claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record stands at 3-5. Nicholas Nixon notched his 18th save in 19 chances.
Eureka needed the clutch hitting of George Dollar to seal the deal. The shortstop swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hornets on top, 4-3. For the game, Dollar had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Dollar called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
The loss makes Montreal 56-52.
