The Cabo San Lucas Toreros besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Quebec shortstop Enrique Leon by beating the Armada, 12-9, at Field de Los Layendas. Leon was 1-2 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The winner was Bobby Avila in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Alfredo Mora took the loss. Earning his 8th save for Cabo San Lucas was Ricky Pimentel.

Butch Beckman helped out the Cabo San Lucas cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder went 1-5.

Beckman told the Cabo San Lucas Gazette: "I was born for the big stage."
