Blazers Rally Late to Clip Manhattan
|
Jay Vincent, who finished 2nd in the TML in ERA with 3.39 last year, had a strong outing for the Bloomington Blazers against the Manhattan Slice at Arson Arena. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 3-2 win. The losing skid has reached 6 games for Manhattan.
The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Ben Petrich came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Manhattan pitcher Dusty Fitzsimmons, he hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Bloomington on top, 3-2.
"This team is real focused right now," said Bloomington manager Leo Dethwright.
