Sasquatch Lose to Manhattan, 9-6
|
The Manhattan Slice withstood an impressive performance by Seattle left fielder Freddy Salgado to defeat the Sasquatch, 9-6, at Copps Park. Salgado was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Manhattan is now 47-58, while Seattle is 49-56.
Dan McCaffery had a big 3-run home run for the Slice in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Manhattan leading 6-3 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Michael Benz, who signed a 3-year contract worth $14,500,000 on 01/18/2061, and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Slice on top, 9-3.
"Winning makes the heart grow fonder -- for more winning," said McCaffery, cracking a smile.
