San Francisco catcher Freddie Riordan helped his team beat the Bloomington Blazers, 5-3. Riordan went 3 for 4 for the Earthquakes. The winner was San Francisco reliever Ryan White, now 3-0. The loser was Jay Vincent. Junior Baxter was called on to finish, recording his 4th save.

There was more than one reason the Earthquakes beat the Blazers, but Riordan's big at-bat in the bottom of the second was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run single.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Riordan.

The win moves San Francisco to a record of 7-4.
