Romanko Blasts Gremlins, Mounties Take Game 3, 7-3
|
The Montreal Mounties have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Houghton Gremlins, winning, 7-3, at Mount Royal Grounds. Mounties first baseman Chris Romanko went 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2. The win cuts the deficit facing the Mounties to 2-1 in the best-of-7 ABL Championship.
One of the clutch hits for Montreal came from one of their biggest talents. In the bottom of the seventh with one out, J.N. Martin, who is a two-time All-Star, hit a 2-run single to put the Mounties up, 7-3. For the game, the third baseman went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs.
"Nice win for us," said Romanko. "Now we'll go after the next one."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mount Royal Grounds in Montreal.
