Montreal Takes 1-0 Series Lead with Walk-off Win
A clutch 9th inning gave the Montreal Mounties a walk-off win over the Kansas City Tornadoes and a 1-0 lead in the League Pennant at Mount Royal Grounds. Young right fielder Alan Willer, 21, earned kudos after he was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

The Mounties were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 24-year old left fielder Steve Frank landed a big blow. He turned a 0-1 fastball from Manuel Zepeda into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Mount Royal Grounds denizens into a frenzy and sent the Mounties home with a thrilling 7-6 win.

"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'Montreal Mounties (probably) 2060 ABL Championship Champions'," Willer told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mount Royal Grounds in Montreal.
