Home Loss Shrinks Jazz Series Lead to 3-2
The Bloomington Blazers topped the Montreal Jazz, 3-2, in Game 5 of the Divisional Series. Most impressive was left-hander Humberto Diaz, who threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The win cuts Bloomington's deficit in the series to 3-2.

Bloomington used a clutch hit from Dave de la Torre to snatch the win. The shortstop belted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blazers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

"No time for posing," said de la Torre. "The next game will be here before you know it."

Game 6 is scheduled for Sunday at Arson Arena in Bloomington.
