Jazz Win, Move to Within 1 Game of League Pennant
The Montreal Jazz moved to within one game of the League Pennant, downing the visiting Bloomington Blazers at Stade Claude Raymond by a score of 3-1. Jazz left-hander Sam Hickey had a strong outing in which he threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The win gives the Jazz a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

Had Randy Daly not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Daly hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Jazz.

"Sam was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Montreal manager Steve Beech.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Stade Claude Raymond in Montreal.
