Millers, Eclipse Play 10 to Settle Game 1, Milwaukee Now Leads Series 1-0
|
One game in and the Wild Card Round is already looking exhausting.
The Milwaukee Millers and the Chicago Eclipse needed 10 innings to settle Game 1, with the Millers finally taking the 2-1 victory at Millenium Field. Excelling in the win was Milwaukee starting pitcher Miguel Dominguez, who threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The Millers and Eclipse are playing a best-of-7 series.
Dominguez, a native of Ponce, Puerto Rico, was dealing all game. He kept Chicago hitters off-balance, while giving the Millers 8 quality innings. Dominguez threw 84 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 8.
"I take a professional approach to my job," said Dominguez. "I've been around this game for a while."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Millenium Field in Chicago.
