Gladden, Mavericks Take Dramatic Game 3 for 2-1 Series Lead
The El Paso Mavericks nearly wasted a strong game from starter David Gladden, but were saved by some timely hitting in a 12th inning walk-off win over the Asheville Moonshiners today.

Gladden pitched well in the 3-2 win at The Corral. He threw 8.1 innings of shutout ball. The win allowed El Paso to seize a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 Wild Card Round.

The decisive blow was delivered by Tony Mascorro in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a run-scoring double off former first round draft pick Nelson Ramirez to win the game for El Paso. The home crowd went nuts.

"Big win," said Mascorro.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Corral in El Paso.
