The Buffalo Bison dealt the Jacksonville Pilots a 5-4 loss at Thundering Grounds at Bison Stadium. Mace Kota, who finished 2nd in the TML in on-base percentage with .434 in 2060, was the star on offense. He was 1 for 1 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 3 times. Shawn O'Neill, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. Buffalo goes to 54-48, Jacksonville to 48-54.

Danny Pellot had a big 2-run double for the Bison in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Buffalo leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from B.J. Tourtelotte, who finished 5th in the TML in ERA with 3.51 in 2061, and swatted a double to left. It was his 17th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bison ahead, 4-1.

Kota told the Buffalo Observer: "I'm the straw that stirs the drink."
