Kolenda Belts 2 Homers in 9-8 Win
The Kansas City Tornadoes turned back the Quebec Armada, 9-8, at Debris Field. Matthew Kolenda, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The Tornadoes, at 51-51, sit in third place in the Thurman Munson League Tim Ervin Division.

With Kansas City leading 6-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Kolenda hit a cutter from Terry Dunne for a 3-run home run. It was his 16th home run of the season and put the Tornadoes ahead, 9-3.

Kolenda told reporters after the game: "Took some doing, but we got it done."
