Varmits Earn 9-6 Win Against Legends
The Yuma Varmits beat the Cooperstown Legends, 9-6, at Doubleday Field. Nick McFadyen, in particular, was impressive. He went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Allen Cain claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record stands at 2-4. The losses continue to pile up for Cooperstown, which has now fallen 13 times in a row.

Yuma used the timely hitting of Juan Maldonado to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Varmits on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We haven't been playing to the level we want to play," said Cooperstown manager .
