Things keep getting worse for Cooperstown.

The The Stinging Larvae bombarded the Cooperstown Legends, 13-2, at Doubleday Field. Leading the blitz was Gaëtan Dumortier. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 4 times and driving in 3 for The Stinging. Now 12-63, Cooperstown has dropped 11 straight.

The Legends had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Larvae going into the top of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old left fielder Keith Malloy came to the plate. Malloy hit a 2-run double on a full count fastball from Cooperstown hurler Kyle Nielsen. It was Malloy's 19th double of the year.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said The Stinging manager Jose Correa.
