Led by 18-year-old Carlos Carrillo, the Normal Nutcrackers knocked off the Coronado Islanders, 4-2. Carrillo was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Nutcrackers. Normal reliever Esteban Herrera picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Jonathan Johnson absorbed the loss. Steve Carpenter earned the save for Normal, his 14th of the year.

Normal took a 4-2 lead on Oscar Salvador's 9th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Salvador hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Coronado pitcher Jonathan Johnson visibly frustrated.
