The Montreal Cardinals cruised to a win over the Carrollton Rangers, 12-4, at Rangers Field. Jay Goldsby, who is tied for 9th in the TR in runs scored with 64, led the way, going 3-for-5 for Montreal. The 6th-place Rangers have dropped 5 straight games.

Montreal used a clutch at-bat from Alex Najera to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cardinals ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Montreal manager Emmanuel Even.
