Maxfield Sensational for Pioneers
|
Matt Maxfield, who is tied for 4th in the TML with a 3.67 ERA, was terrific for the Vancouver Pioneers in his team's 2-0 triumph over the Bighorn Bison. His performance earned Maxfield rave reviews. Getting the save was Kenny Poor, his 20th. The last-place Pioneers have a record of 50-67.
Maxfield was in the zone, shutting down Bighorn hitters over 7.1 innings. Maxfield, who threw 102 pitches, allowed no runs on 2 hits. He also tallied 6 punchouts.
"I like what I saw today," said Vancouver manager Naofumi Tanaka, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
