|

In addition to his 2 singles and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 2. He also added 1 walk. Peter Nichols came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 6-4. By defeating Tallahassee, the second-place Nationals improved to 80-82.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Acadia Park catcher Rich Swindoll, facing Jesus Gonsalez, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Nationals the 5-4 win.
"The fans went nuts at the end," Swindoll said.
