Havana Stogies starter Curt Gangemi found his groove in his team's 5-4 win over the Cabo San Lucas Toreros. Havana pitcher Yale Fischer earned the win, hiking his record to 4-5. Charlie Doane suffered the loss. Danny Arias collected his 22nd save.

Havana used a timely hit from Mike Chevallier to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Stogies ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Gangemi told the Havana Bulletin.

The last-place Toreros now sit at 42-59.
