Racers Rebuff Freeze, 4-2

Bowling Green turned a fine outing from starter Nate Crockett into a victory over the Minneapolis Freeze at Top of the Hill. The final score was 4-2. Their 85-74 record puts the Racers 4th in the RCL AAA Tony La Russa Division.
Tim Stavrou had a big run-scoring triple for the Racers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Bowling Green leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from Victor Hernandez, who is tied for 6th in the TAAA in complete games with 4, and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 5th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Racers ahead, 3-1.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Minneapolis skipper Ben Jeffcoat, "and it cost us."
