Late Heroics Net Nationals 2-1 Win
|
The Acadia Park Nationals found a way to sneak past the Hendersonville Hens, 2-1, in 10 innings. Acadia Park pitcher David Harkey, for one, had a standout performance. Acadia Park reliever Terry Hearn snagged the win, upping his record to 2-8. Vince Anderson shouldered the loss. Acadia Park goes to 54-105, Hendersonville to 82-77.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Acadia Park second baseman Kyle Brye, facing Vince Anderson, had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It gave the Nationals the 2-1 win.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Harkey.
