Carter Goes Deep Twice in 9-8 Coal Miners Win
In a high-scoring game between Antioch and Billings, left fielder Freddie Carter was a difference-maker. The 20-year-old helped Antioch grab the 9-8 win. He went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Justin Allmond, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-1. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 5 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Nate D'Ambrosio, who leads the TAAA in saves with 41, nailed down the save.

In the bottom of the second, 27-year old second baseman Victor Vallejo hit a 2-run home run. The 22nd home run of the season for the Antioch second baseman put the Coal Miners on top, 3-1.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Antioch manager Jordan Hay.

At 92-64, the Coal Miners have a slim two-game lead in the TML AAA Cito Gaston League.
