Despite a fine performance by left fielder Sean Johnson, the Amarillo Armadillos lost to the Fairfield Flash, 7-6. Johnson went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times. Amarillo now owns a losing streak of 8 games.

Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 26-year old right-handed pitcher Israel Velasquez had a real shot to win the game. Amarillo pitcher Arturo Contreras was determined not to let it happen. But with no outs, Velasquez hit a run-scoring single. The Flash had a walk-off triumph.

"This game is going to humble you at times and you've got to man up and deal with it," said Amarillo manager Tyler Bulman.
