Cacti Need Extra Frames to Get Past Swallowtails
|
Albuquerque starter Rick Rielly pitched well against the State College Swallowtails at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 2-1, in 11 innings. The Cacti, at 98-58, have now won 5 straight.
The decisive blow was delivered by Mark Ballard in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Billy Seal to win the game for Albuquerque. The home crowd went nuts.
In postgame comments, Ballard said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
