Privateers Rebuff Outlaws, 6-4
|
Not everyone stuck through the 15-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
The Memphis Privateers picked up a win at Privateers Grounds, topping the Baton Rouge Outlaws, 6-4. On the mound for Memphis was right-hander Jose Patino. He played a principal role in the triumph. Patino yielded 4 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 12-6.
Memphis right fielder Jeremy Mabe contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a sinker to left-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 41st hit of the season and put the Privateers ahead, 2-0.
"All in all, I thought Jose pitched a fine game for us tonight," said Memphis manager Ross Allan.
With the win, the Privateers have a record of 81-74.
