Stavrou, Racers March to 8-0 Victory
|
Led by 22-year-old Tim Stavrou, the Bowling Green Racers knocked off the Acadia Park Nationals, 8-0. Stavrou went 4-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Racers. Nate Crockett went 6 innings, allowing no runs on 1 hit. The right-hander, who is tied for 8th in the RAAA in wins with 12, struck out 3 and walked 4. With the win, he's now 12-10 this season. Steve Cresci earned his 5th save in 8 chances.
In the top of the first, 21-year old center fielder Zach Jackson hit a run-scoring double. The 12th double of the season for the Bowling Green center fielder put the Racers on top, 1-0.
Said losing manager Bryan Blashill: "Obviously, we wished for a better outcome."
With the victory, the Racers upped their record to 81-73.
