The Hendersonville Hens got a marvelous performance from pitcher Greg Spivey. The right-hander kept the Fort Worth offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 5-2 Hendersonville victory at The Coop. The winner was Spivey. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Ghaysun Sghir. Getting the save was J.P. Larson, his 21st.
Steve Bisch hit a bases-clearing double off Ghaysun Sghir in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Hens in front, 4-1. In addition to the double, Bisch had 1 single, while going 2 for 3.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Bisch told the Hendersonville Times.
The 5th-place Hens improved to 79-74.
