The Minneapolis Freeze could not turn a fine performance from first baseman Josh Flippo into a win. Instead, the Billings Mustangs prevailed, 6-5, in 10 innings. Flippo went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Even with the win, the Mustangs have a dismal 50-101 record.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the tenth, an error by the Freeze allowed the Mustangs to score the winning run.

"What an ending!" said a jubilant Pike.
