Though he had a terrific game, Alex Benitez could not prevent his team, the Albany Firebirds, from absorbing a loss. Pasadena won the game, 5-4. Benitez went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Mike Coker picked up the win in relief for Pasadena, while Chris Finley took the loss. Dave Murphy closed out the game, earning his 18th save.

Pasadena went up, 5-4, on Jon Marcella's 6th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Marcella hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Albany pitcher Chris Finley shaking his head.

Marcella attributed the win to "concerted effort and focus."

Pasadena is now 70-79, Albany 80-69.
