Ridge Runners Pick Up 4-1 Win Against Eureka
|
Eagle Rock Ridge Runners pitcher David Baxley was in top form, leading his team past the Eureka Hornets, 4-1. Baxley got the win, improving to 5-6. He gave up 4 hits and walked 0 over 5 innings. He allowed 1 run. Jack Anthony closed the door for Eagle Rock, picking up his 10th save of the year.
The Ridge Runners got a big at-bat from second baseman Shane Achilles. For the game, Achilles went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 11th home run of the season gave Eagle Rock a 3-1 lead.
"Nice win for us," said Achilles. "Now we'll go after the next one."
