Hitmen Spoil Great Performance by Griffin
The Calgary Hitmen outlasted Billy Griffin and the Albany Firebirds, 8-7. Griffin was impressive in the loss. The Albany shortstop went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Elton Turner snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-0 on the season. Israel Sanchez suffered the loss. After today's action, Calgary sits at 97-50, while Albany falls to 79-68.

Kevin Stark came through with a big-time hit for Calgary. The third baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 8-7. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Calgary manager Austin Alexander.
