Calgary Beats Peoria as Mansel Throws 1-0 Shutout
|
Calgary Kodiaks starter Matt Mansel really did a number on the Peoria Caterpillars, shutting them out, 1-0, on 3 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 1 walk and had 3 strikeouts.
"We didn't have good at-bats," said Peoria manager Scott Andrews. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Mansel."
Up to now Mansel has recorded a record of 6-6. In 18 starts he has fanned 75 batters in 110.1 innings with a 5.47 ERA.
