Black Bears second baseman Steve Miller left his mark on his team's 7-3 win over the Fairfield Flash. Miller went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Thunder Bay in the contest. Josh McCloud was the winner. He's now 8-2. The loser was 35-year old right-handed pitcher Rafael Alfaro. Michael Benz earned the save for Thunder Bay, his 2nd of the year.

Thunder Bay took a 4-1 lead on Miller's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Rafael Alfaro in the top of the eighth, propelled Thunder Bay to the win.

Miller said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."

The Black Bears now own a record of 88-57.
