Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown State College Swallowtails take on the Astoria Argonauts.

The Astoria Argonauts got a superb performance from pitcher Josh Hall, but the State College Swallowtails still won the game, 7-6. Hall threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. Reliever Clyde Dempsey picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Allen Justice took the loss.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when State College designated hitter Sean Manns, facing Allen Justice, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Swallowtails the 7-6 win.

"The crowd was raucous," said Manns.

The Swallowtails go to 71-73, putting them 4th in the RCL AAA Bobby Cox Division.
