The 9-7 Tallahassee win over Fairfield was due in large part to Dave Jessee. The Captains shortstop slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Juan Ibarra earned the save for Tallahassee, his 5th of the year. Tallahassee has 3 straight wins, Fairfield 6 straight losses.

Melvin Cintron had a big 2-run home run for the Captains in the top of the third inning. With Tallahassee leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he got a splitter from Tom Gaston and swatted a home run to left. It was his 15th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Captains ahead, 3-0.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Cintron, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
