Hens Blank Reno, Messenger Winner
|
Josh Messenger was in a mood to talk following the Hendersonville Hens contest against the Reno Raiders, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Raiders, 4-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Messenger said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked Reno on a 3-hitter, allowing 4 walks and racking up 4 strikeouts.
This year, Messenger has posted a record of 13 wins and 7 losses with a 3.53 ERA. He has appeared in 27 games and struck out 164 in 183.2 innings.
