The Reno Raiders had to overcome a fine effort from Acadia Park pitcher Shonosuke Tsutsui to win, 5-4, at House of Pain. Tsutsui went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Don Townend earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 9-2. The win lifted the Reno record to 81-61.

Reno got a clutch hit from Luis Farinas. The center fielder launched a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

Reno manager Maziba Ewansiha commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
