Big Day for Ratliff in 11-9 Dancin' Outlaws Win
|
Runs were plentiful at The Rain Forest.
The West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws defeated the Brisbane Bush Wackers, 11-9, in part because of right fielder Chris Ratliff. Ratliff was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for the Dancin' Outlaws. John Peters was the winner. He's now 12-11. The loser was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Edwin Mendiola.
Carlos Encarnacion had a big 2-run double for the Dancin' Outlaws in the bottom of the first inning. With West Virginia leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a screwball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Edwin Mendiola and swatted a double to left. It was his 25th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dancin' Outlaws ahead, 3-0.
"We came out with clear minds and swung the bats well," said West Virginia manager Guy de Kleijn.
With the victory, the Dancin' Outlaws record stands at 72-90.
